About JJI
Mission Statement

Jiu Jitsu International exists to unify Jiu Jitsu as an amateur sport, by creating and supporting National governing bodies throughout the globe, in order to introduce Jiu Jitsu in the 2016 Olympic games.
Goals

In 2011, the first Jiu Jitsu International World Championship will be held in Rio de Janeiro.

There, the first World Black Belt Council meeting will take place.

From then on, annual World championships will precede the Olympic introduction up until 2016.
Membership
Countries

Most countries do not yet have national governing bodies for Jiu-Jitsu.

JJI understands that some countries may only have white or blue belts as national chair or team members of only white, blue, purple, or brown belts for the first few years of events. A black belt is not a pre-requisite for national directors or team members competing at the international level.
