Mellan den 20-30:e juli p\u00e5g\u00e5r World Games i polska Wroclaw och ca 3500 atleter ber\u00e4knas delta fr\u00e5n fler \u00e4n 100 olika l\u00e4nder. Evenemanget antas locka en storpublik p\u00e5 ca 500 000 m\u00e4nniskor. Men vad \u00e4r World Games och hur startade det?<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\nHistorik<\/strong>
\nOrganisationen bakom World Games \u00e4r IWGA, International World Games Association, och grundades 1980. Under 70-talet h\u00f6lls ett antal evenemang men det var f\u00f6rst 1981 som det f\u00f6rsta World Games anordnades i Kalifornien, 18 utvalda sporter deltog och 1285 deltagare t\u00e4vlade.<\/p>\n

Koncept<\/strong>
\nT\u00e4vlingarna samlar de sporter som aspirerar till att bli olympiska och uppl\u00e4gget har st\u00f6d fr\u00e5n den Internationella Olympiska Kommitt\u00e9n, IOC. Tidigare idrotter som inkluderats i World Games som nu har OS-status \u00e4r bland annat triathlon, taekwondo, badminton och rugby.
\nWorld Games g\u00e5r av stapeln vart fj\u00e4rde \u00e5r och bjuder in de 8 b\u00e4sta idrottarna i v\u00e4rlden i varje gren, eller de 6-8 b\u00e4sta lagen, att t\u00e4vla om en av de 180 medaljerna. WG best\u00e5r av 37 idrottsf\u00f6rbund, innefattar 60 olika icke-olympiska sporter och eventet brukar ha strax \u00f6ver en halvmiljon \u00e5sk\u00e5dare.<\/p>\n

Regler & riktlinjer<\/strong>
\nAlla sporter \u00e4r inte med under varje evenemang utan det anpassas utefter vilka m\u00f6jligheter v\u00e4rdstaden har. World Games och OS skiljer sig \u00e5t p\u00e5 en punkt, inga nya faciliteter eller infrastruktur f\u00e5r byggas enbart f\u00f6r evenemangets skull. Ut\u00f6ver det har WG samma uppf\u00f6randekoder, samma antidoping-regler och ansvar att skydda kringliggande natur och milj\u00f6.<\/p>\n

Medaljliga & deltagare 2017<\/strong>
\nSverige ligger p\u00e5 en 10:e plats i medaljligan inf\u00f6r m\u00e4sterskapet i Wroclaw d\u00e4r den svenska kampsporten representeras av f\u00f6ljande atleter:<\/p>\n
